In today’s lesson, our Tinker Grade 1 students learnt about the concepts of pattern and loop.
In computer programming, a loop simplifies the sequence of repeated instructions.
Students made their own yummy necklaces to accomplish the lesson objectives through the procedure Ask + Imagine, Plan, Create + Improve. When students are immersed in an unplugged hands-on activity, they understand the concept a lot better and it is easy for them to remember.
By the end of the activity, students were able to create their own yummy necklace, identify what a loop is, and understand the relationship between a pattern and a loop.
They most enjoyed sharing their own unique necklaces with other classmates.
And, yes, eating them too!
